Ms. Clare from Hunterdon ISR is a genius. She taught my two girls ages 3 and 1 how to float over several weeks this summer. My 3-year-old can swim, flip over on her back to float, then go back into a swim! Ms. Clare was extremely patient with our 1-year-old who cried constantly for the first several weeks. You can tell she loves kids and what she does. I highly recommend Ms. Clare and her teaching abilities, especially over group swim programs that we previously attended and had no success with. It takes dedication coming on a regular basis, but this is the way to go if you really want your kids to be safe and learn swimming.

Enrolling my 14-month-old son in the ISR swim program proved to be the wisest choice I could have made to ensure his safety around water. With both a pond and a pool in my backyard, as a first-time parent with an active toddler, I underestimated just how swiftly a tragic accident could occur if I momentarily took my eyes off him. Observing Mason's daily progress during these concise ten-minute lessons was nothing short of astonishing. Clare, our instructor, displayed an unmatched level of care, patience, and expertise. Entrusting my precious child to her capable hands as he acquired these crucial skills was an obvious decision. My son can now independently respond to various water-related emergencies, such as falling off a step or the pool's edge, by instinctively flipping over and taking action to save himself.

In summary, I 10 out of 10 recommend Clare to any parent! We will be back in the fall and next summer for refresher lessons and to learn even more skills!

We are so proud of Benji, and Ms. Clare.  In the beginning, Benji would not let go of Ms. Clare but by the end he was flipping  over and jumping off of the pool edge all with a smile. I’m so relieved to know that after seven short weeks, Benji is now able to float and swim independently at two years old. I wasted money on mommy and me classes, Floaties and other methods I thought would help him swim when in reality this is all we needed. We would do it all over again and look forward to returning for our follow up courses, as does Benji!  

We could not be happier with our decision to put both of our daughters in ISR swim lessons with Clare this summer. While the first few weeks are tough on the kids getting used to being in the water and working so hard we fully trusted Clare from day one and knew they were in the best hands. She constantly reassured us as parents but also our girls, encouraging them and reminding them  “you can do it”. Clare made sure to over communicate to us what she was going to work on for

the day along with what her goals were for the lesson and that week to keep them on track. We knew what to expect every day, as did the girls, and after the first couple of days we were all excited to go to swim! Now that lessons have ended our girls still ask to go swim with Miss Clare and even get their own swimsuits and towels ready to go! That speaks volumes in how much we all as a family love Clare and miss seeing her everyday. After just a short 8 weeks Clare and her family have

become so special to us and we already look forward to seeing them for refreshers next summer! Being able to have our girls complete the ISR lessons was a blessing. The peace of mind we have as parents knowing they now have the life saving skills if they were to accidentally fall into the water is irreplaceable.

I just wanted to thank you for all that you did with my girls this summer! ISR has so many misconceptions around it and I am so happy you have made this accessible to our community. Now people can see how important these skills are for children of all ages! My girls learned so quickly to be comfortable and confident in the water. Your gentle guidance supported them and me throughout the process and I am so grateful for the peace of mind.

I had been looking for an ISR instructor close to us for over a year. Being that we have an in ground pool in our back yard it was extremely important to my husband and I that we got our daughter swim lessons through ISR. She was already comfortable in the water, but our want was for her to be safe in and around water. We were elated when we found Clare Parente in Clinton, NJ, since it was so close to our house! Days leading up to the lesson, no question was left unanswered and Clare helped us be prepared for our first day. My daughter stays home with me, so taking to strangers or unfamiliar faces is difficult for her, but in a matter of no time, Clare changed that. At first my daughter would cry when I would hand her over but the situation quickly changed to her eagerly jumping into Clare’s arms to start her lesson accompanied by the biggest smile. I mention this because it’s hard to trust your baby in the water with a stranger but after these short weeks, Clare feels like family and the skills she has helped our daughter learn and be confident doing is a gift we can never repay her for. After about 7 weeks, our daughter is jumping off the steps of the pool where she remains calm and turns over into a safe floating position, she swims towards the steps until she finds footing or a ledge to support herself, and has mastered the float in both summer and winter attire in addition to her bathing suit. I don’t have enough good things to say about Clare or the ISR program. I think if every parent saw their toddler or child be able to do what Clare helps them achieve in such a short amount of time, they too would sign their kid up for the next available set of classes.
